Description: Made by Bishop & Stonier (Bisto) in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, in the early to mid 1920s, this earthenware set … more Made by Bishop & Stonier (Bisto) in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, in the early to mid 1920s, this earthenware set features an ornate early Art Deco style gilt decor on an ivory glaze with scalloped edges. Included are 2 oval Tureens with covers; the larger measures 12"L x 6.75"D x 5.5"H and the smaller being 10"x8.25"x5"H. Three serving platters include an oval at 14" x 11" and 2 round platters at 12" diameter and 11" diameter. The final piece is the gravy boat with attached saucer, 8.5"L x 5.5"W x 3.25"H. The British registration number for the pattern is 502102 with the glaze registered as Oriental Ivory.
The overall condition is Very Good to Excellent with the gravy boat having light crazing on the underside and light stains on the interior. Otherwise no cracks, chips, glaze or gilt loss. less
