ARTIST BIO:
Angela Chrusciaki Blehm is an American artist, with a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of Houston. She works from her home studio in Gainesville, Georgia. Her art and designs have been featured in Domino, ELLE Decoration UK, HGTV Magazine, DIY Magazine, Clever by Architectural Digest, the Wall Street Journal, Apartment Therapy, House Beautiful, Cottages & Bungalows, Atlanta Magazine HOME, ELLE Decor Spain, Modern Luxury Interiors Atlanta, and A Beautiful Mess. Her work has been published in the books: A Cozy Minimalist Home by Myquillyn Smith and Dream Design by Paloma Contreras.
Angela's art explores traditional and stereotypical female roles through pattern manipulation and experimentation with scale. Sexuality, absurdity, playfulness, obligations, and nature all manifest on canvas or on her layered wood assemblages. Each work is graphic in its use of color and line work. Her layering of wooden forms and her use of exaggerated perspective give each piece dynamic, dimensional presence. Perfected lines and use of structure reference regimentation, but are simultaneously balanced with elegant, abstract shadows. Angela views her art break as a nurturing incubation period where she gathered and filed ideas in her daydreams for future exploration. less
