Rare pair of Michael Taylor for Baker Furniture Company accent/ lounge chairs circa 1950s, with sloped arms, curved seat backs, … more Rare pair of Michael Taylor for Baker Furniture Company accent/ lounge chairs circa 1950s, with sloped arms, curved seat backs, with tapered, architectural front legs, inset with a recessed linear detail, with flared back legs. Newly professionally, refinished cherry frames, in a hand-rubbed, ebony satin stain finish. Newly professionally, re-upholstered, in a, "To the Trade," representative textile by Kravet. Textile is a soft Belgian gray, in a tone on tone coloration, depending upon the direction of the woven pattern, but also with a light, natural oatmeal color corresponding, within the architectural, geometric woven, design pattern. Content is; cotton, linen, viscose, and rayon, which gives it the slight sheen. Single and double self welted details throughout. The textural, quality of hand of this fabric, has a tailored, sophisticated, transcending quality, part and partially synonymous of the workmanship, and quality toward's frame and refurbishment. Interior stuffing and springs are; original, with a combination of layers of cotton, between burlap, foam, banting, and dacron, truly quintessential, of a bygone era/period, of stuffing and upholstering, within the furniture making, manufacturing industry. Long lasting, timeless products used, such as this, equates with longevity, for pieces such as these to withstand a cyclical appearance and reappearance within any interior setting, for generations to come. In excellent condition. From an outstanding actors Fort Lauderdale, Intracoastal Waterway Florida estate filled only with Michael Taylor and Baker pieces from the 50's and 60's, including Baker Far East Collection pieces.
