We love this extraordinary teapot because of the composition of the silver that through age, actually appears to have a golden tone at some angles and at the first glance. The term "EPNS" stands for electroplated nickel silver.
This is a process by which very thin layer of silver is applied to a nickel base electrochemically.
Still employed in modern times, it was introduced in the 1840s, replacing a mechanical plating process known as "Sheffield plate," which in turn was developed as a cheaper alternative to solid silver items. EPNS can usually be distinguished from solid silver and Sheffield plate through markings and patterns of wear.
This treasure will fascinate your guests with the very interesting deep etching of floral design and the golden tone to match both your gold and silver flatware and serve ware.
