Quite intentionally constructed using high end mahogany timbers, one would imagine because the maker knew that would help it to last when being used heavily, it remains in excellent condition and has great elegance to it.

Of course there is also the added bonus of having a chess board inlaid to the top, which allows one to have a quick game whenever they may fancy. The chess board, as with the rest of the table, is excellently executed and really does add to the piece overall.

Overall, as mentioned above, this 19th century games table is in quite excellent condition and has clearly been both well loved and well used throughout its life.
