A wall unit in pine with a black painted steel structure. Designed for a house in Antwerp by Belgian interior architect Jul de Roover in the 1950s.
The unit consists of 1 double-width deep cabinet and 2 drawers underneath, combined with 3 full-length shelves and 1 smaller shelf. The deeper cabinets feature white painted sliding doors, and the drawers have matching white wooden handles. There is also a storage cubby at the bottom, allowing for a larger gap beneath the small shelf which could be used for displaying larger objects.
The system is overall in good condition. There are traces of wear to the surface of the wood in the form of nicks, scratches and some sunlight discolouration. There is some white paint on the metal supports where the unit was previously attached to a wall. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
