This set of two (2) vintage Tilso figures possesses the iconic gold foil label, which is intact on both pieces. The first sculpture features a European boy holding either wheat or corn and a European girl playing the french horn. Both sculptures double as vases and feature real gold leaf accents.
Tilso Japanese Import Company was founded in 1913, and its products were popular after World War II. L. Batlin and Son originally ran an Vintage store but after the depression, they founded Tilso (a name that was derived from the names of the owner's wife and daughter, Tillie and Sonia).
