Skillfully hand-shaped and hammered copper half-dome cap and gracefully worked copper (or copper-toned brass) staves with brass rod spacers combine to convey a supremely elegant and perfectly-proportioned botanical aesthetic. Very subtle variances in tone and texture provide an added level of sophistication to the nicely muted finish.

Hans Grag signature and "Gump’s" stamped into side of base. Brass stem with original brass finial, harp, and socket. Original large pleated black silk drum shade featuring beaded gold brocade and velvet trim is included, though an update would better serve the lamp.

Grag Studios—with a decades-long reputation for superbly conceived and crafted decorative metal work—was founded by Hans in 1952 in California, with its retail lighting designs only being available through Gump’s. Norman took over the studio in 1965 after his father’s passing, and it’s currently overseen by his son Jon, who continues to craft exceptional pieces in the family tradition.
