It is signed on the back and side by 'Janet Hans/Janet H.' in a child's script. It would make an endearing addition to a child's room or a cool gift for an accountant's office bookcase.

As for imperfections, they are consistent with age and use. It looks like one of the original counting hoops is missing as there are holes for one. Also, the paint on the back and side is rudimentary in keeping with its primitive nature and there is a spec of white paint behind the red counting beads.
