1960s Turkish Oushak Yastik. A yastik is a small rug handwoven with wool on wool foundation in the Oushak region of Western Turkey. The Anatolian plateau is where the weaving of oriental carpets originated. Rich in tradition and pride, each of the villages of the area produced a certain design and colors that the neighbors rarely copied. These Vintages were largely illustrated in historical European painting. Their bold geometrical designs and soft colors made them favorites of interior designers.
