The Homer Laughlin China Company (HLC) is an American ceramics manufacturer that was started in 1871 and is located in Newell, West Virginia. They are best known for producing the Fiesta line of dinnerware. HLC maintains contracts with the federal government to supply china and dinnerware for a range of functions.

Eggshell Georgian was introduced in 1940 and was a lighter version of the Georgian Regular shape dinnerware that was introduced in 1934. Georgian Eggshell was widely merchandised and many patterns can be found in this popular shape. A special Georgian eggshell mark was made in May 1940. The china for sale has that Georgian eggshell mark on all the items.

For sale is a set of 100 pieces of Homer Laughlin china purchased in 1946. It is one of the more popular patterns with a pink and floral design featuring gold trim around the outside of the design. The pattern is #G3467 and is frequently identified as Marilyn Pink.

The service includes: (12) 10” dinner plates, (12) 6 ¼” bread/butter/dessert plates, (12) 8” square salad plates, (11) footed teacups with (11) 6” saucers, (11) 5 ⅜” fruit/dessert bowls, (12) 8 ¼” rimmed soup bowls, (8) 8” square luncheon plates, (1) 9” relish dish, (1) 8 ½” round serving bowl, (1) 9 ½” x 7” oval serving bowl, (1) 9 ½” x 7” oval covered serving dish with handles and (1) lid, (1) 16” x 12” oval platter, (1) 12” x 9 ¼” serving platter, (1) sugar bowl 4” x 3 ¼” with (1) lid which adds 1 ½”, (1) creamer which is 4” x 3” with handle to spout 6” holding almost a cup of milk or cream and (1) 8” gravy boat.

All pieces are in very good condition with no signs of glazing. They were used occasionally for company, but most of the time they were stored in the china cabinet in our dining room in a smoke-free home. There is a small chip in (2) dinner plates, (1) dessert bowl, the round serving bowl, the oval serving bowl, the creamer, and a large chip on the bottom of the gravy boat. The gold trim on the dinner plates is lighter on one side than the other, but those are the only pieces that show any wear.
