This is a very good companion book for the exhibit, "Avant-Garde, painting & sculpture in America, 1910-25." The exhibit was held in 1975 at the Delaware Art Museum, April 3-May 18. This illustrated, 176-page softcover/wraps includes a detailed history of the rise of Avant-Garde art in America. The text includes articles on The Stieglitz Circle, The Armory Show, Mable Dodge, New York Dada and more. Also, an extensive survey of the Artists and their works, with photos and examples.. With a Chronology and sources at the end.
This book ,*2nd printing, is in very good vintage condition - bright, clean, unmarked. An excellent resource and reference for collectors of American Avant-Garde, teachers, artists, writers and anyone who admires the work of these pioneering artists - so highly-collected today, including Georgia O'Keeffe and Thomas Hart Benton and so many more.
