History: The company by Strombergshyttan began in 1933, and was sold to Orrefors in the 1970s.
A great example of Scandinavian design from the 1950s.
Gunnar Nylund (1904 - 1997 ) Swedish ceramic designer, first trained as an architect.
1952 - 1956 contracted for Strömbergshyttans glassworks - Sweden. This model with air decorations inside and this model of the normal range were also made in the same red, blue and green colors bubble underlay technique, and a frosted white color outside.
This paperweight would look great on any desk, but also very decorative on a shelf or occasional table. A very heavy crystal piece.
