Piero Guccione (Italy, 1935-2018), “Oleandro in Controluce” (Oleander in Silhouette ), titled and signed lower margins, titled, signed and dated verso, with Galleria Il Gabbiano, Rome label to stretcher.
Piero Guccione was a leading figure in the influential 'Il pro e il contro’ artist group of 1960s Rome, and later formed the Scicili Group.
He participated in six Venice Biennale between 1966 and 2011, including a single-artist retrospective in 1988, exhibited internationally, and his works are held in international museums and private collections, including the Met, MOMA and the Hirschhorn.
