Shown is a beautifully detailed full life sized bronze bust of the Goddess Saraswati. Saraswati (Sanskrit: सरस्वती, Sarasvatī) is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art, wisdom and nature. She is a part of the trinity of Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati. All the three forms help the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in the creation, maintenance and destruction of the Universe.
With impressive subtlety and a most detailed execution, the back of her head is inconspicuously adorned with a depiction of Citramekhala, which is the mayura, or mythical sacred bird associated with Saraswati. In visual depictions of the mayura, it is shown as killing a snake, which according to a number of Hindu scriptures, is a symbol of the cycle of time. On the statue, this depiction is placed in such a way that it seems almost like a beautiful esoteric secret and one could easily not even realize its there if not specifically looking for it.
With all that being said, this statue has an undeniable if not otherworldly, magical, and magnetic quality that pulls your attention to her wherever she is. Her gaze angled away but urging you to look closer. There is an inner beauty that is radiated out from the expert craftsmanship adorned with the most delicate and intricate of detail in the design. At times you almost expect her to start moving or talking to you.
You could spend hours marveling at this beautiful piece and still discover new things you hadn’t noticed previously. Definitely an impressive and inspirational piece for an entry way, office, studio, or bedroom. Absolutely stunning. Can include metal and wood display pedestal if desired but be aware it will increase size for shipping, please message us if you do not want the pedestal.
