C.1950s; Mid-Century, Mad Men-style, custom and original Edward Wormley for Dunbar Furniture, of Berne, Indiana is this Mahogany and Olive Burl Wood, side/end table, in an inlaid veneer detailing, of a book-matched pattern application, to this gorgeous and timeless, side/end table, which also has a removable lower shelf, and brass capped feet. The Model # is 6044, in a square-shaped version as to the apposed rectangular one's most seen, and manufactured between C.1950-59. This table also may used for a smaller scale coffee/cocktail table, given one's interior home domain and smaller scale sized living, much a like a large city Metropolis, and not detracting with style, but also the lower shelf is removable, in that it may be used as a large scale serving tray, to pass cocktails, aperitifs, appetizer's etc. Also the lower removable shelf, has notched-out details on the x-mitered stretchers, in that such, the lower shelf has to lock into place from all 4 corners, pushed down into it's grooved areas does this, it then is solidly in place and cannot physically fall off, unless remove from any one corner, or all together. Such crated details are what make this table so special, beyond the material, but a feat of ingenuity at its best. The table also has some simple, but refined details, as such; the tapered quinate carved legs, ending in solid brass sabots, foot protectors. (IF one needs an image, please reach out, there are not enough spaces to allocate and showcase this superb table in all it's glory). The top gallery edge surround, is meant to have an architectural look and fell, with the flinched or faceted edging. Every minute detail is thought out and exemplified in Wormley's coveted pieces. This sophisticated table, has been crafted of exceptional material, synonymous to Wormley's style, with form and function, with this stance and look, craftsmanship notwithstanding, with the material utilized, will stand the test of time, be it universal and cyclical in time periods, with interior styles interchanging many periods, it gives this piece a timeless inclusiveness into many interiors, periods and interior style domain. One can see 2nd to the last image is the top of the table, at the bottom reference, that is a reflection due to outdoor photo shooting, and the overhanging of the roofline, while table is in the shade, because of the sun, and maintaining the true coloration of the table being photographed, which offsets pieces sometimes with that type of glare, as there is nothing wrong or warped in the top, but also one can see the full book-matched detail to the top given, as is given to the lower removable shelf/ level. From a Delray Beach Estate.

moreIn great condition, age consistent with wear, conducive and normal with antique pieces. Otherwise minor nicks to legs, minute if any wear, and underneath x-mitered scratchers, perhaps due to motion, movement to and fro, normal and indicative, as the table has been well-maintained, given the era of manufacture. less
