Clamp this beauty to your desk at home or the architectural office where you hang out! As always, superior French design and craftsmanship, including some solid brass (the chromed shade and the switch housing), some aluminum (the beautifully designed clamp). The shade has been impeccably chrome-plated (original) and won't be compromised by most atmospheric conditions, at least not in your lifetime. Rewired and fitted with an American phenolic standard-sized socket, and a new switch as well. There’s no heat escape per se, but the opening of the shade is large enough that air will circulate and disperse the heat from the bulb. Still, 60 or possibly 75 watts would be as high as you’d want to go. The flexible part of the lamp is brass-plated steel, and some of the brass finish is worn.
I’d say this is more “Modernist” than “Art Deco” in styling, and it’s certainly from the 30s or so.
Measurements: about 29 inches high (as seen standing straight up). The shade is 6 inches in diameter and 5 ¼ front to back. The opening for the clamp is about 2 ½ inches. less
