Rounded … Read more Exceptional Georgian Style, Twin-pedestal Extension Dining Table by Historic White Furniture Co. of Mebane, South Carolina. Style Number 400-13. Rounded Rectangular Shaped Top in Original Medium Finish Mahogany, with Satinwood Banding & Ebony Pinstripe Detail. Carved Solid Mahogany pedestals in Duncan Phyfe style with Brass-capped Feet and Brass Casters. Includes 3 leaves. Storage bags for leaves and padded, folding protector for entirety of tabletop.

Note on Dimensions: Length of table is 76 closed and up to 142 with three leaves. Total height is 29. Table thickness is 1. Underside hardware (which is inset from edge of table) is additional 3.5 thickness. While knees will clear table at 28 high, arm height of chairs should be no more than 24 to be able to push fully under table.

Condition: In extraordinary vintage condition, wear consistent with age and use Great construction and quality. Please inspect posted photos to see areas of expected imperfection. These areas are considered endearing qualities of vintage and antique furnishings, acquired by time and natural wear. Table has had one owner and hosted many family gatherings since the early 1980's. Acquired through estate sale.

History: White Furniture Company was a major American producer of hand-crafted fine furniture for over a century, 1881-1993. It famously created furnishings for the White House. In 1988, White Furniture Company merged with the Hickory Manufacturing Company, known also for their fine furnishings of quality materials, as found in the Biltmore Mansion in Asheville, North Carolina. When these premier manufacturers joined forces, they became known as the Hickory White Co., which today is a subsidiary of Sherrill Furniture Co., a leading supplier of fine home furnishings to Designers and major Furniture Stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.
