Pair of Paul Kedelv Flygsfors Cranberry Coquille-Style Clam Shaped Bowls are from the Coquille aka Shell design made in Sweden.
Inspired by the shape and the rich colored gradients found inside seashells, Kedelv designed the Coquille range of Swedish Art Glass in 1952 which was distinguished by its organic and nautical forms with layers of transparent and opaque colored glass to mimic the gradients found inside seashells. Kedelv turns the shell inside out, telling the seashell's color story on its outside while bringing us back into the shell on a deeper level through the glass's transparency.
The Coquille range became Flygsfors' most popular and world renown line of glass, and was produced into the early 60's.
The larger dish measures 18" wide x 5" deep x 9" tall and the smaller one is 15" wide x 5" deep x 5" tall. less
