We are offering a document here: 70 years of berlin book trade! it comes from the original furnishings of the marga schöller bookshop on kurfürstendamm and was published in the magazine "innendekoration" in april 1954 by alexander koch verlag. We purchased the armchair from the former manager of the marga schöller bookshop. The wooden parts have been slightly reworked and the upholstery was renewed by the previous owner last year. The piece of furniture bears the old, original knoll label under the crossbar below the seat. The very rare, elegant armchair "48" by franco albini and franca helg comes with a very good provenance. The reopening of the traditional "bücherstube marga schöller" after the renovation by the architect hermann fehling on kurfürstendamm attracted international attention. The new temple of books was furnished in the modern style of the time with furniture from the renowned manufacturer knoll international based on designs by well-known architects. The new furnishings were published in the april 1954 issue of the magazine "innendekoration" by alexander koch. The armchair "48" was the last remaining piece from this furnishing. In the meantime, the bookshop had to move to knesebeckstrasse, where it can still be found today. See less
