This is an Exceptionally Nice Vintage Portuguese Coin Silver Napkin Ring. Extra Large Size. It is Completely Hand Made with Fancy Hand Chased - Hand Repousse Grapevines and Wheat Stalks in Bold - High Relief. The Front is Engraved - " Padre Motta " - Translation Father Motta. . It was Most Likely Given as a Gift Either To or From a Religious Priest - Clergyman Etc. The Hand Engraved Inscription is Also Dated 1948, However I do Believe that the Napkin Ring Itself Could Possibly be a Bit Older Than That Date. It has a Portugal 833 Grade - Coin Silver Mark.
It has a Substantial Silver Weight of 1.199 Troy Ounces. It is in Very Nice Condition but it is a Bit Tarnished - Could Use a Good Cleaning & Polishing.
Large Size - It Measures 2 1/8 inches Tall x 1 5/8 inches Wide - Long.

This Piece Being Marked 833 would have a 83.3% - 833/1000 Pure Silver Content. Sterling Silver has a slightly higher 92.5% Silver Content - that being 925/1000 Silver Content.
