Beautiful traditional Japanese hand fan (Uchiwa 団扇) from the 1970s-1980s
Dimensions: height 46 cm, width 33 cm.
This handmade, flat, non-foldable fan features a sturdy bamboo frame covered with washi paper. The combination of bamboo and washi makes the uchiwa an iconic and timeless example of Japanese craftsmanship.
The fan is adorned with a hand-painted motif of cornflowers and signed with the artist’s name and hanko (seal).
Perfect as a serene wall decoration, this fan comes with a decorative wall mount (see photo).
