Rosa Falstaff is a stunning English rose with cupped blooms of rich dark crimson. With a powerful old rose fragrance and glowing petals this is one of my absolute favourites!
This photographic composition was arranged digitally post-production and is intended to capture the flamboyancy and visual splendour of rose hybrids and cultivars.
To create my photographs, I employ a method of 'camera-less' photography in the form of the flatbed scanner attached to my computer. The lighting effect of the scanner means that very little light enhancement post-production is required in my photographs. I have some control over their composition; which I employ in the way I place the plants on the scanner bed, and by digitally cutting and re-placing certain elements of the plant post-production.
This diptych comprises 2 giclée prints on Hahnemühle Photo Rag which is a beautiful matte paper that adds a velvety depth to the black background in the photograph. You could display each section of the diptych close together as I have done in my display, or you could play around with the composition and place them further apart, perhaps with something else in between.
+ Each part of the diptych measures 8.3 x 11.7 in.
This is a signed limited edition run of 6 prints.
$25 of each sale will be donated to conservation charities Plant Life and Butterfly Conservation UK.
