Published by Fernand Mourlot, Paris; printed by Mourlot Frères, Paris, March, 1957. Excerpted from the volume (translated from French), This work started in MDCCCCXLV, was made by Fernand Mourlot after elements chosen by Pablo Picasso who followed and approved the print run of original reproductions and lithographies on the presses of Mourlot Frères in Paris with the assistance of Henri Deschamps. The typographical composition in Grandjean Corps 32, called Romain du Roi, as well as the print were made on the presses of L'Imprimerie nationale, Georges Arnoult being inspector of typography, in March MDCCCCLVII, according to Lucien Jais' models. Justification of the draw: 250 examples were drawn numbers to the press on vélin d'Arches à la forme savoir, 50 examples numbered from I to 50 with a sequel on Japon à la forme of thirteen original lithographs, seven of which are not included in the book 200 examples numbered from 51 to 250. In addition, twenty-five examples marked in roman and nominative numerals were reserves for the artist and the implementers all colophons were signed by the artist.
PABLO PICASSO (1881-1973) Spanish painter and sculptor is one of the most recognized figures of twentieth century art. During his artistic career, which lasted more than 75 years, he created thousands of works using all kinds of mediums. He changed art more profoundly than any other artist of his time. First famous for pioneering cubism, Picasso continued to develop his art with a pace and vitality comparable to the accelerated technological and cultural changes of the twentieth century. Each change embodied a radical idea, and might be said that Picasso lived several artistic lifetimes.
