Guido Chiappe for Sedie Chiavari Ebonized High-Back Side Chair
It was expertly crafted in Chiavari - a town renowned for its chair production since the early 19th century. Made with beech wood french polished in a mahogany color and hand-woven cane, these chairs are not only elegant but also remarkably lightweight.
The inspiration behind the Chiavarine design has had a significant impact on the world of design, including the renowned Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti. His Leggera chair in the early 1950s and the Superleggera chair in 1958 were both influenced by the Chiavarine's sturdy yet lightweight construction.
There is a manufacturer's label affixed to the underside of the seat.
