This sink is in good overall condition for its 75 years with relatively few blemishes to be found for the age, and it looks nice from all angles. There is some light to average wear to be found, and this is detailed from top to bottom. The area along the top of the backsplash has some light scratches, and a couple shallow chips, the larger measuring 0.2". The vertical face of the backsplash is very good overall, with nothing beyond some faint, thin scratches. The horizontal section in back of the bowl looks OK, but is slightly rough around the faucet holes, and there is a 0.45" circular spot near the front that looks to have been caused by the lye in the soap over time. The peg for the drain hole plug chain is good, and the drain holes have corrosion that was, and will be, hidden by the faucets. There is slight wear to the area surrounding the bowl, with the most residing in the front. The water overflow "grate" has slight rust around the edges, but this area is in better shape than a majority of other cast iron sinks from the 1950s that we have come across. The bowl looks to be fine, but a closer inspection reveals two small chips, wear, and slight roughness at the bottom, and there is a 0.75" shallow "ring" to the left of the drain. There was a small attempt at trying to scrape it off, but we didn't want to get too aggressive for fear of doing some damage. The porcelain is worn on the left side of the bottom, so that it is slightly darker than the rest. This can be seen in the pictures. The drain hole is fine. There is some corrosion that will not be visible when the flange is installed. The outside of the sink looks very good overall. There are some very small chips along the bottom edge, and a shallow one on the front, bottom that measures 1" across that does not stand out all that much. Aside from cleaning it up, the underside was left alone to show the condition. There is surface rust, but much less than we have seen on some sinks of this age - and the portion of the bowl that may be visible when the sink is installed is (roughly) painted a light green. Although it failed to make it into the pictures, a vintage "Standard" wall bracket in very good condition will be included.
*** This piece is described in greater detail than is normally found, as the camera likes to hide blemishes with items such as this. There are pictures included with and without the use of flash in an attempt to show the details. The description is accurate to the best of our knowledge, and areas are pointed out that may look nearly flawless in the pictures.
