Antique English brass Warwick bear doorstop, c.1900
A well cast example showing all the fine details to the head, staff and fur. The bear and ragged staff emblem date back to the Middle Ages and has been used by the Earls of Warwick. In heraldry, the bear and staff emblem implied courage and boldness.
