Likely Anglo Indian although these were also made in Ceylon I believe. Two levels and storage underneath these two levels. The top compartment has bone inlaid top pieces with pen and ink decoration. The box seems in good condition although the compartment lids do not fit quite tightly in some case. I acquired it in a jumble and each piece seems fitted for each compartment. Perhaps age or desert dryness here in Palm Springs has caused some shrinkage to pieces and the awkward fit. There is a crack to the top near the hinge, pictured, and a crack through the center of top or separation, although it doesn’t affect integrity. There is no key and it is not locked. There are quite a few old reglued pieces I noticed as I looked through it. Age and use wear.
