The piece is intricately carved, showcasing detailed scales, expressive facial features, and inlaid dark glass eyes that give the figures a lifelike presence. Measuring 3.5” wide, 2.25” deep, and 3.75” high, it is signed by the maker on the underside.

What Is a Netsuke?
A netsuke is a small, finely carved toggle or ornament that originated in Japan during the Edo period (1603–1868). Traditionally, netsuke were used as functional pieces to secure small containers, such as inro (medicine or accessory cases), to the sash of a kimono.
