The brilliantly transparent lake reflects a faraway white mountain top and the sky in its clear blue waters on one side, and the shadow of a nearby peak on the other in a perfect yin-yang representation of nature’s air and stone.

The dark side may be interpreted as Yin, a symbol of earth, femaleness, darkness, passivity, and absorption. It is present in even numbers, valleys and streams. The bright side, Yang is conceived of as heaven, maleness, light, activity, and is present in odd numbers, mountains, and represented by the color azure and an unbroken line.

This original artwork carries a spiritual meditation set in an elaborately carved French-style gilt wood frame that is ready to hang. Painting dimensions without frame = 12 ¼ x 17 ½ inches.
