Vase with cobalt blue lid, mouth-blown in the 1950s in Murano, Italy to contain spices and medical herbs in the pharmacies of Venice.
The glass version was created by glassmakers to lighten the aesthetics of the majolica and decorated ceramic pharmacy containers in use in Italy since the Middle Ages but which were too colorful for the rich Venetian furniture.
