Roseville Ming Tree Rare Large Size #585 Green, Brown & Pink Table or Floor Vase circa 1949
# 585 is the second largest vase that Roseville made in the Ming Tree pattern.
This is a truly rare find and is in very good structural condition worthy to be used for its
original purpose- to hold water and fresh flowers.
The !4" high, wide girth size is unique in its versatility. It can be used as either a stunning entryway piece staged on any level or table vase or can handily do the job required of a floor vase.
There are no cracks, chips, splits or repairs in this vase.
The finish does have some fine crazing that has developed over the past 75 years but it does not affect the integrity of the vessel and no part of the finish is flaking or cracking off.
The finish feels smooth overall when running your fingers over it.
You can't see the crazing at a normal distance. You have to be inspecting the vase up close, but it is visible with the naked eye.
Please note that my camera's zoom is set at 7 to 10 X in order capture the crazing in the close up pictures shown.
The vase is also very clean. It was not very dirty when I acquired it. I was able to clean it up very easily leading me to believe that it was very gently or rarely used.
14.25" Tall at the highest. ( 36.20 cm )
8.75" wide including tree vine branch handles. ( 22.22 cm )
7.5" wide at the bottom without the handles ( 19.05 cm )
8.5" wide at the top mouth ( 21.59 cm )
Weighs 6.5 lbs. ( 2.948 kg )
