Above, flower garlands terminating on handles in the form of grotesque satyr masks. The neck features a flower wreath bellow a scalloped border. Parian ware is a type of bisque porcelain developed by the Staffordshire manufacturers around the mid XIX Century and aimed at replicating the pure white marble of the Greek island of Paros, renown for its unsurpassed white marble used for statuary since antiquity. It can also be used as a lamp base. If so, have it French mounted to prevent it from being drilled, once drilled, it would lose value as an antique. less
