Serving shovel, engraved “Pescador”, silver plate – France
Magnificent and elegant serving shovel in silver plate. It features a grooved and bulbous handle that holds the blade of the shovel, with a curvilinear, organic and wavy design that recalls the fluid and natural lines of the Art Nouveau style, very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The transition between the blade and the handle is decorated with a shell or scallop. On the blade is a delicate hand engraving depicting a fisherman on the bank of a river, with his catch hanging from the rod and surrounded by lush vegetation.
