What is special about this specimen is the region where this cabinet comes from, as most cabinets originate in southern Germany and Austria, this specimen comes from the Harz Mountains in central Germany. This is reflected in the special colorful painting that this cabinet has. The cupboard is painted in soft blue and red tones and the doors are provided with the name of the original owner and wedding date (1789). The cabinet has a primitive design and what is striking is that the cabinet is quite shallow. The inside of the cupboard still has the original layout in the form of a rod with coat hooks. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. The cabinet still has the original working lock and key and can be transported in two parts. 170cm high, 147cm wide, 43cm deep. See less
