Did you know that exquisite glass objects are not exclusive to venice, italy. The spanish islands also boast their own remarkable glassmaking tradition. While distinct from the delicate finesse of italian glass, spanish glass art is characterized by its robust charm, offering an equally extraordinary allure.spain's glassmaking tradition, particularly from the island of mallorca, holds a special place in the history of decorative arts. In the 19th century, the glassworks of mallorca blossomed, producing pieces that combined technical mastery with artistic flair, making them highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs.
discover this stunning and rare antique 19th-century chandelier from mallorca, crafted in a striking petrol-turquoise-colored glass with six lights. Originally designed for candles, this chandelier was likely converted into an electric lamp during the 1930s, blending its historic charm with modern functionality. This chandelier exudes a surprisingly modern feel despite its significant age. It is in good, sound condition and almost in mint state. Only a few minor details hint at its history: a few small hanging beads at the top are missing, and one of the small floral ornaments beneath the arms has a partial leaf missing. Aside from these subtle imperfections, the piece is remarkably well-preserved and remains in excellent overall condition. The wiring has been carefully checked to ensure optimal functionality and safe use.
this chandelier has been rewired, and the wiring has been thoroughly checked. It features universal wiring designed for the higher european voltage (220–240v), but it can easily handle the lower u.s. Voltage (110–120v). While the wiring is fully compatible, the bulbs must also be suitable for the lower u.s. Voltage. The chandelier is fitted with e14 sockets, a european standard similar to the u.s. Candelabra base (e12). To use it in the u.s., you’ll need 110v e14-compatible bulbs
