Rare spark arrestor dating from the mid-19th century (around 1860) in formerly gilded bronze in perfect condition, bearing the mark of the famous Parisian bronzier Charles Casier, stamp on the base "CH.CASIER" and its monogram, two intertwined C's; its rocaille style outline is finely chiseled with acanthus and foliage, its central motif representing an allegory of winter, a nymph in a sleigh pulled by a cherub on the clouds.
