A genuine buoy life ring from the Liberty Supply Ship John Gibbon, Houston Texas. Has a naturally weathered surface. It still has the red reflective bands. A true piece of maritime heritage that was salvaged from this ship. Liberty ships were used to bring supplies to our troops overseas during WW2. This ship was named John Gibbon after a Civil War Brigadier General John Gibbon who served as a commander during the civil war.
The buoy is in very good condition with period wear and patina consistent with age and use. The stenciling was redone and is off register. We did not attempt to clean it. It has no holes or tears. For decorative purpose use.
