19th Century Spanish Colonial Santos wall hanging shrine of the Virgin Mary
South America, Mid-19th Century or Older
Consisting of two pieces, the distressed (structurally sound) tabernacle/ shrine with pierced crest top, and two front legs, retains the forged iron hanging hook. The shrine does not stand independently, it hangs on the wall.
Complete with a removable, well carved wood and polychromed figure of a standing draped Virgin Mary, on a cherub head red painted pedestal.
Retains vintage retailer label.
