When carving, Stinson Studios strive to follow the naturally grown exterior form to achieve a balance between the natural exterior and the smooth carved interior. The burl is buried in the ground under wood shavings to age and darken. Once aged to satisfaction, it is carved, dried, sanded and finished. Rarely do you find such large beautiful statement pieces such as this. See less
