John Keal designed two styles of low-arm dining chairs for Brown Saltman. This 1950s design, with its space age lines, is harder to come by. The natural chatoyance of the mahogany frames is sublime, dancing playfully as you view from different angles.
This set was completely restored – meticulously refinished and fully reupholstered in a period perfect burnt orange fabric reminiscent of the Eames dot pattern design. The frames were lacquered without stain, allowing the natural color of the mahogany to shine through.
Rare to find a set of six, and rarer still to find them in this condition. The original manufacturer's tags are lost to history. However, the original nailheads that affixed the tags remain on the underside of some seats.
