Designed in 1976 by Wolfgang Mueller this Vitramat chair features a black PVC seat shell with a foam seat and back upholstered in a brown fabric, mounted on a height-adjustable five-star swivel base with castors.

Since its introduction, the shape of the Vitramat chair has set standards in the form and design of office chairs. Its unique and ingenious appearance made the Vitramat an icon of designer chairs. It has received numerous awards and the Federal Prize for Good Form in 1979. It was also selected for the Design-Zentrum Stuttgart and the Design-Zentrum NRW.

This chair is in very good condition for its age with only minor signs of wear commensurate with age. The only notable issue with this chair is that the piston for the backrest adjustment no longer works. However replacement pistons are available online should you wish to replace this, the chair has thus been priced accordingly. The Height adjustment piston is in full working condition.
