The night hypnos - god of sleep end 20th century exact 1:1 plaster copy of the original located in the british museum. British museum inventory number 1868,0606.9. Period between 350 bc and 200 bc. Of unspecified greek or roman origin. This specimen was found in italy in civitella d'arno in umbria, in the province of perugia. It was purchased by the british museum in 1968 by mr. Alessandro castellani. The night - primordial deity according to the orphic tradition (from orpheus singer and musician, son of eagro, king of thrace and the muse calliope) he was born from chaos (the immense empty space from which all things were born) in the form of a black bird together with erebus (personification of darkness and brother and husband of the night). Night, fertilized by the wind, laid a silver egg from which eros or protogonos, "firstborn", was born. Height 30 cm width 30 cm depth 16 cm weight 4 kg manufacturing italian material gypsum this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
