German Bauhaus-style desk chair / swivel chair / architect's chair by Böhler Original (Erzgebirge), estimated to be from the 1930s … Read more German Bauhaus-style desk chair / swivel chair / architect's chair by Böhler Original (Erzgebirge), estimated to be from the 1930s to 1940s. The solid frame consists of a four-legged base made of wood and iron. The seat and back surfaces are made of plywood veneer / pagwood, probably with a top layer of beech, and have a pleasant curve. The seat is ergonomically supported by four springs. The suspension gives slightly and is therefore rather soft. The backrest also springs back softly/slightly thanks to the painted flat steel.
The height of the chair can be adjusted by manually releasing a lever. The backrest can be adjusted in depth and height using rotary handles. The backrest is adjustable in depth and height. The painted iron parts have the approximate color RAL 1011 brown beige.

Height: 80cm

The chair is in good condition considering its age. The swivel chair was gently cleaned while retaining the original patina and refreshed with a polish or furniture wax. This means that the chair can be used ready to live in - while retaining the clear signs of use such as scratches, abrasion marks or paint damage, which preserve its period authenticity.
