Solid ashwood … Read more Very rare Art Deco ottoman or dressing stool in the manner of Jindrich Halabala, Eastern Europe circa 1930. Solid ashwood square legs and winged sides. Refinished in non toxic bio oil, some traces of nails of previous upholstery work, light wear consistent to age, reupholstered in luxurious Backhausen fabric designed around 1904 by Josef Hoffman, widely used in Vienna Secession period. As of June 2023, Backhausen has closed its operations, therefore this fabric is never to be produced anymore. See less
