Super cute vintage desk! It has been completely refinished, taking off decades of old shellac to reveal a gorgeous stacked rattan frame with all original bindings still strong and intact. The thick hardwood top has also been sanded down and relacquered. The desktop and drawer fronts are most likely mahogany but also have some of the beautiful characteristics of Koa wood? I’m not sure but it’s just gorgeous as I tried to capture in different pictures.
It also features 2 drawers and rattan ladder detailed sides. Because it’s on the smaller side, I could see this piece being used in a child’s surf theme bedroom, for a fun accent in any Tiki style/retro living space or just as a cool vintage front entryway table.
