Entirely hand-decorated polychrome and vitrified hard-paste porcelain rococo figurine depicting a little girl in eighteenth-century dress seated with table, base with pure gold trim, signed below the base with the two crossed swords in underglaze blue by the German Meissen manufactory. The sculpture can be dated to the early 19th century, between 1800 and 1820. Meissen is by far the oldest and most important German porcelain manufactory and is credited with being the first European manufactory to discover the porcelain formula.
Object Considerations:
High artistic quality of the sculpture, note the beauty of the minute decorations on the skirt all executed with the tip of a brush, the beauty of the lace made by hand with a technique similar to the "Pâte-sur-pâte" classic of Meissen's oldest porcelains, the beauty of the little girl's face or headdress, a very fine object. The porcelain is of a very hard and firm impasto, full and massive, consider that the sculpture is very heavy despite not being particularly large. This piece has an attribution mark,
