He was an Italian painter, exponent of the pictorial movement of existential realism.
Biography: Bepi Romagnoni, a young Milanese artist who died tragically at a young age, was an exponent of the pictorial movement of Existential Realism which was inspired by the philosophy of Kierkegaard, Camus, Sartre: this inspiration can be found in the themes chosen as the subject of his works - emptiness, the lack of communication between the characters, the loneliness and the differences between social classes -, both in the pictorial ones and in the subsequent collages. He was always up to date with international contemporary art (such as the Cobra group and European informal art) and was also interested in the Mexican muralist painting of José Clemente Orozco, starting to feel strong expressionistic accents in his production, and then, from the end of the 50s and early 60s, of surrealist influences, populating his painting with graphic signs and sometimes creating phytomorphic and zoomorphic images.
