Probably one-off production.
The heavy standing mirror has a nickel-plated bronze base and chrome-plated frames. Very elaborately crafted, elegant triptych. The shape and quality speak for an extraordinary design from the 1920s, comparable to works by Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann or Eckart Muthesius.
The two side mirrors are anchored to the middle section, but can be removed without much effort.
The middle mirror is 60 cm wide, the two exterior mirrors are each 40 cm wide.
The height of the three-part standing mirror is 165 cm and refers to the middle part.
The triptych was loaned to the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn in 2023 for the large exhibition “1920s in the Kaleidoscope of Modernism”.
The back of the mirror is in its original condition with signs of wear commensurate with age.
In the 1920s, these mirrors were made with high-quality silk fabric or ray skin "Galuchat" on the back. related.
They were found in Parisian fashion ateliers, luxury department stores or were made to order for a bodoir in a stylish luxury villa.
The metal parts were professionally polished for the purpose of being loaned to the Bundeskunsthalle.
