Simonet frères & Dieupart
A beautiful pair of French 1925-1930 art deco pendants in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding globes in clear frosted pressed glass. The lamps were produced by the famous company of Simonet frères. Simonet started in the 19th century as producer of bronze gas lamps. In 1925 they changed their style into art deco. They asked the sculptor Henri Dieupart to design their glassware like vases and lamp shades. The shades of these very rare pendants are signed Simonet freres and Dieupart. This model is called "Les Marguerites" in the old Simonet publications.
The pendants have a height of 75 cm (29,5 inches) and the shades are 21,7 cm (8,54") in diameter. They are in excellent condition. Note that glass balls of Simonet always have four tiny holes drilled in the glass for the heat of incandescent light bulbs to escape. I have re-nickeled the mountings and the fixtures are rewired with an American standard socket each.
